Stevens silver tube, natural cork, Roger Miller gouge, white thread. Long scrape reeds (more refined than student) available in strengths ranging from medium-soft, medium, medium-hard, hard.
STUDENT - English Horn Reeds
Rigotti brass tube, no wire, maroon thread. Long scrape
reeds available in strengths ranging from medium-soft, medium,
medium-hard, hard.
PROFESSIONAL - English Horn Reeds
Rigotti silver tube, wire, white thread. Long scrape reeds
(more refined than student), ranging in strengths from medium-soft, medium, medium-hard, hard.
About Reeds…
Reeds must be adequately hydrated in order for them to "speak", avert leaking, etc. Soak up to the binding for 5'-10'…less in humid, moist situations…more in desert, or winter heating conditions.
Please note that hairline cracks extending up to 3mm or so from the binding, will not adversely affect the reed. Reeds arriving with a crack in the tip are not usable. Please call me if this happens.
